Yesterday, while working (I work from home), my area was experiencing frequent to excessive lightning, thunderstorms.
I requested permission to shut everything down and start working again after the storm goes away.
An hour later, everything calms down and I start working again.
Less than 30 minutes later, lighting stroke somewhere near the house and lights flickered and POOF!!! My work computer went down..
I would not turn on. Even after being unplugged for about an hour…

The only other choice I had was to use my laptop, but problem was that my PC has Vista.

I have this Tech from Desktop support, assisting me install the proper applications to Run on my Vista machine so I could continue working. He Remote connects and starts uploading the right applications for Vista.

All of the sudden he decides that it’s OK to download Spyware Doctor with Antivirus to my Computer.
When I asked why, he responds that he needs to for precaution.

I’m like, “I can assure you this PC has no infections at all and/or nothing malicious installed”

SO there he goes telling me about how 90% of all computers get infected in less than an hour after being connected to the internet and blah blah blah..and that he hears the same thing everyday, many times a day.
Indirectly telling me that I know nothing about computers and internet and security..

It amused me, so I let him do what he thinks he knows he is doing and in order to prove him wrong.
When he tried to install Spyware Doctor, the installation did not run.

He tried several methods to make it run and still wouldn’t install. After almost an hour, he forwards me to his Supervisor to take a look at my computer.

His Supervisor didn’t even try to install the Spyware doctor crap and decided to simply install the applications needed to work with Vista and everything worked fine.

So now, I knew exactly why Spyware Doctor was not installing. But I did not tell him. Simply because I hate the fact that there is always a KNOW-IT-ALL who thinks they fucking know everything and that gives them the right to look down on others.

In “Attack of the Zombie Computers Is Growing Threat”, John Markoff expresses his concern about how hackers and spammers are turning the average computer into a powerful slave or zombie computers used to launch massive spam emails and commit cyber crimes. How is this possible?

With technology getting better and more complex by the minute, hackers and spammers are taking advantage of it to create powerful tools or viruses to infect computers around the world, turning the infected computers into a “Zombie Army” called Botnets. Botnets are responsible for the recent growth of spam email, data theft. “It’s the perfect crime, both low-risk and high-profit,” said Gadi Evron, a computer security researcher for an Israeli-based firm, Beyond Security. Botnets take advantage of bugs found on Windows based computers. Botnets are written by computer code writers predominantly from Europe, and are later distributed in many ways such as email, user downloads, and pirated software and drive-by downloads. Once the program is installed on an internet connected computer, the computers can be remotely controlled through a communications system called Internet Relay Chat.

As a computer technician, I’ve experienced an infection from a botnet while testing one of my computers for security breaches. The particular file that infected my computer was set up to use Outlook Express to send massive spam email to thousands of random addresses. Once the attack began, I was practically spammed with thousands of emails not making it to their target due to spam filters or simply the addresses not being found.

The success of turning computers into zombies rests in the fact that Windows based computers hold the greatest market share among Operating Systems (NetApplications, 2007). Some people argue that this would be solved by changing to another Operating System; however, this will only be a temporary resolution if everyone decided to change systems out of rampage. If you were a virus writer, what operating system should you make a target? The most used system or the less used system?

Most computer users, who are currently using infected computers, do not even know they are infected due to lack of security. The malicious software being redefined by “black hat” programmers makes it more difficult to detect such infections. What can be done to prevent this from happening to you? Make sure you are protecting your computer with the latest antivirus application, firewall and keep them up-to-date.

I am pretty sure it is helpful, to 0.1% of the Human Population..

Not everyone needs this much Math and I am a strong believer that certain Math Subjects should be optional and According to the field of study.

I am not studying to be the next Einstein or an astronomer or a matemathician or accountant or Engineering..etc..

I know we all need math. We sure do.

But in Reality… Unless I am planning to Graph my Pubic Hair and find the x intercept of my Genitals to the Y intercept of a Womans Genitals and find the Quadratic Equation to find how many children I will equate, and then use the Substitution and Elimination method to find the Vertex of my Childrens’ Gender…

WHY DA FUCK AM I FORCED TO LEARN CRAP I DO NOT NEED OR EVEN RELATE TO MY FIELD OF STUDY !! !!!!

I was awaken this morning by the sound of loud bangs against the walls, a woman screaming her lungs out and children crying. It was not a dream. It was the sad reality of a family who spend most of their life verbally killing each other. My neighbors.

I looked over my clock and I see it is 5AM in the morning. Too early dont you think?. Apparently not.
The fight started over the husband spending the night out with his brother and getting home at 5 AM in the morning. The wife gets all irate and starts screaming at her husband and reminding him that he is a married man and he should not be doing this sort of stuff.

As soon as the wife came out of the room and saw the brother standing outside the room, she already knew they had gone to a strip club and so she started blaming the brother for her husband’s actions. This was more than enough for the brother to start insulting and using all sort of profanities against the wife of his brother and the husband did not even say a word to defent the wife or even ask the brother not to disrespect her that way. Soon after I heard the children crying and the fight got worse by the minute.

The fight lasted for about two hours and I could not go back to sleep for a long time and I had to be up at 0830 to work at 0900.
At the end, All I heard more doors banging all around the building and then sudden calm took over my world.
